Heather LeBeau has been a Teaching Artist with Dancing Classrooms North Texas since August 2008. She was initially interested in the Dancing Classrooms program as a way to share her love of dance with children who, for the most part, do not have access to the fine arts. However, once she began teaching she realized how the program effects the children’s lives by not only sharing dance steps, but also by helping them with their self-esteem and self-worth. Heather has had the opportunity to teach in more than 80 classrooms in Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, HEB ISD, Arlington ISD, and Grand Prairie ISD over the past nine years. In 2015, she attended the Global Network Senior Teaching Artist Training in New York lead by Rodney Lopez and Alee Reed. She became the DCNT Educational Liaison in 2016. Her love of dance began when she was five. She took lessons in ballet, tap, and jazz through her high school years. Heather started competing in ballroom dance competitions in 2005 and continues to compete in American Smooth and Rhythm styles to this day.
